About Me

I'm BJ Botha and I'm

I have been a professional athlete for over 18 years and spent the last 26 years in the gym, so I have been very fortunate to have worked with some of the best Coaches and Strength & Conditioners in the world. This has afforded me the opportunity to have gathered a huge amount of experience and knowledge in the Sports and fitness fields.

I am continually striving for personal growth, so in order to up-skill myself in my field I am currently studying through Setanta College to complete my BSc in Strength & Conditioning so that I can apply this to my passion in the fitness world.

Now, having recently retired from Professional rugby, it is now my mission to apply my skill, passion and knowledge to my coaching and personal training platform - “Tight 5 consultants”.

What I've achieved

I was fortunate enough to be a Professional Rugby player for over 18 years for some of the biggest clubs in World Rugby.

I proudly represented my home side The Sharks early on in my career before leaving for Europe where I represented Ulster Rugby(IRE), Munster Rugby(IRE), Lyon(FR) and Biarritz(FR) respectively. I made my international debut for the Springboks in 2006 and was fortunate to be part of the pinnacle of our season in 2007, winning the World Cup Cup in France ’07.

During my time in Europe I was also selected to play for the Barbarians RFC and tour with them to Australia 2011. I retired from Professional rugby at the end of 2018.
